Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. 🌟Instead of hiding cracks, chips or breakages, Kintsugi asks us to see the beauty instead of the brokenness. 💫
Dating back to as early as the Jōmon period (14,000-300 BCE), broken areas were traditionally mended using lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold. 🧈 In this workshop, we will be smashing ceramic pieces and then repairing them with super glue and gold paint. Cracks and chips will be filled with gold paint thus turning something broken into a beautiful piece of art.
